Homemade Kalonji Oil

Homemade Kalonji Oil

For you, I have shared two methods to make kalonji oil at home. Usually, cold-pressed kalonji oil is very effective, but my recipe is a bit different. So, let’s start with a method with a cold press oil extraction machine.

How to make Kalonji Oil with Cold Press Extraction Machine?

The main component you need to extract kalonji oil from kalonji seeds is Cold Press Extraction Machine. You can quickly get a good quality machine in the market in the range of Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 25,000.

Then obviously, you need Kalonji seeds (1 kg seeds to extract 200-250 ml oil), and that’s it!

Procedure:

  • Step 1: Read the manual of the machine properly. Every brand works a bit differently; therefore, you should learn everything about the machine.
  • Step 2: Clean the machine thoroughly so that no containments are left in the machine, primarily if you have extracted oil recently.
  • Step 3: Take good-quality kalonji seeds and clean them thoroughly with a dry cloth.
  • Step 4: Place a small container to collect the residue of seeds during the extracting oil process. You can use the residue as organic manure as they increase soil fertility.
  • Step 5: Heat the machine if the temperature is below 40o C; otherwise, there is no need.
  • Step 6: Add seeds and keep adding them to the funnel until you get the desired quantity. Do not over-add the seeds as it is a time-consuming process.
  • Step 7: Keep the collected oil in a warm place for a few days until you see the residue on top and clear oil at the bottom.
  • Step 8: The last step is to strain the oil into a glass container, and your homemade kalonji oil is ready!

Now, let’s check out my recipe in which you need not spend your money on a machine.
